Who we are
NOLAP Technologies is a technology company registered in Ghana. We build software, run a digital agency and train developers. We hold the Data Protection Commission (Ghana) Privacy Seal, and we handle your personal information under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Questions about this page, or about your information, go to info@nolaptech.com.
What we collect, and why
When you send us a message. Your name, email address, phone number (if you give one), the service you are asking about and your message. We use them to reply to you and to talk about your project. Before a message is sent, we email a 6-digit code to the address you entered, to make sure it is really yours. We also keep your internet address and browser type with the message, only to stop spam and abuse.
When you join a waiting list. Your email address and your name if you give it. We use it to tell you when a training programme opens. Your email is kept in our email provider's contact list so that we can send you that notice.
When you just look around. We count visits so that we know which pages are useful. For each page view we record the page, the site you came from (for example Google or WhatsApp), and the type of device and browser. We do not store your name, email or internet address for this. Each visitor is a one-way code that changes every day, so we cannot follow you from one day to the next. We do not count staff, search-engine robots or anyone whose browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal. These counts are kept for up to 400 days.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics or similar tools. The only cookie your browser may receive is a small security cookie that protects our forms from forgery. Our staff use a sign-in cookie in the admin area.
One outside service is involved when a page opens: our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them, and Google can see your internet address when it does. Nothing else about you is sent, and we do not use it to identify you.
Who helps us handle it
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising. A few companies process it for us, only so that the website works: our hosting and database provider, our cloud storage provider, and our email provider, who sends our emails and holds the waiting-list contacts. Your information may therefore be stored or processed outside Ghana. We only use providers that protect it properly. We may also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
Messages and applications are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and follow up, and then deleted. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Email verification codes are deleted automatically. Visit counts are removed after 400 days.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. You can also take back a permission you gave us, for example by asking to be removed from a waiting list. Email info@nolaptech.com from the address you used and we will deal with it as quickly as we can. If you are not happy with how we handled your request, you may complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ghana.
Keeping it safe
This website is served over a secure connection. Our admin area needs a sign-in, access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly safe, so if something ever goes wrong with your information, we will tell the people affected and the Commission, as the law requires.
Children
This website is not meant for children under 16. If you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
